WIZARDS HALFTIME PERFORMANCE

Performer Info

Registration Deadline - January 31st (NO EXCEPTIONS) -

Please complete the online waiver by January 31, 2026

  • For the dancer to participate,

    • the dancer must be enrolled in a studio class (excluding ballet, acro or preschool pombo) or afterschool program

    • a production fee must be purchased in the Parent Portal for each dancer, which includes:

      • the dancer’s entry ticket and one adult ticket

      • three additional group rehearsals on 1/31, 2/21, and 3/14

      • halftime performance on 3/17

  • Additional tickets and upgrades are also available upon request. However, outside of the two tickets purchased with your registration, additional tickets can be purchased through a separate ticketing platform unless you’d like all of your tickets seated together.

  • Tickets will be transferred via email, and you’ll follow the steps to claim your tickets

Tickets

  • Two tickets are included in the Production Fee - one for the dancer and one for their adult.

  • Want more tickets or an upgrade? Tickets (in our section) start at $85/ea. To make a request, please email (info@thepomsquad.org) the number of tickets you need. We will invoice your Parent Portal account and send you a statement. Please pay for any additional tickets by March 1st.

  • ALL tickets will be sent to the parent's registered email address by March 10th to ensure all parties are seated together. Parents will need to accept the electronic tickets and add them to their digital wallet on their phone.

  • Do babies and toddlers need tickets? According to the Box Office Policy, children 3 years and older need a ticket. Children 2 years and younger must sit on an adult’s lap.

  • All sales are final. No refunds.

Big Group Rehearsal Information:

Dancers will learn choreography in their weekly classes. BIG Group Rehearsal is equally as important because this is where your child will learn their formations and spacing for the performance. Please note each rehearsal’s location and start time:

  • 1/31 - Pine Crest Elementary GYM from 4:30-6:45 PM

  • 2/21 - Blair High School GYM from 5:30-7:45 PM

  • 3/14 - Wheaton High School GYM from 4:30-6:45 PM (dress rehearsal)

Performance Attire:

  • Black Jazz shoes - order by March 1

  • Green Outfit for our theme: “So Lucky” St. Patty’s Day Performance (dancers get to pick their own outfits this year!)

  • Light make-up ok/encouraged

  • Hair neat, no specific style required

  • No jewelry besides stud earrings

Game Day Agenda - Wednesday, March 17th

  • Our spectacular halftime performance at the Washington Wizards vs. Detroit Pistons game will be held on Wednesday, March 17th.

  • The event will be at Capital One Arena, located at 601 F Street NW, Washington, DC 20004.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for providing transportation for their child to and from Capital One Arena. Supervision of the child remains the responsibility of the parent or guardian until the dancer is signed in with a P.O.M. Coach. Dancers will be released to their parents or guardians immediately following the performance.

  • The game commences at 7:00 PM. Dancers should arrive at the arena no later than 7:00 PM and meet P.O.M. Coaches outside sections 113/114 at the end of the first quarter/beginning of the second quarter.

  • Parents/Guardians should keep all of the dancer’s belongings. Please do not send bags, coats, etc. with your dancer.

  • Please note - backpacks are not allowed in the CapitalOne arena. You can read the Security Policy here. Please avoid bringing a bag.

  • Late Pick-Up Policy: if your child isn’t picked up within 10 minutes of the performance end time, you will incur a $10.00 late fee and an additional $1.00 per minute thereafter.


FAQs:

  • Does my child have to be on a Performance Squad to perform?

    • No, as long as your dancer is enrolled in a class and you purchase the Production Fee, they are permitted to perform.

    • However - Performance Squad members do receive a discount on the Production Fee.

  • What does the Production Fee cover?

    • Two tickets to the game (1 for dancer, 1 for adult)

    • 3 EXTRA rehearsals on 1/31, 2/21, and 3/14

    • Halftime Performance on Wednesday, March 17th

  • Is transportation provided?

    • Transportation is not provided. It is expected that a parent or guardian will bring the child to the stadium and be responsible for that child until they sign in with a Coach. Children must be reunited with their parents or guardian after the performance.

  • Do babies and toddlers need tickets?

  • Can parents come to the court? 

    • Only Coaches and Dancers are permitted to come to the court level.
